Small law firms have special needs from their IT providers. They seldom have any internal IT knowledge and they rely on LEAP and their ITC providers for their firms to operate smoothly.

 

It is essential that a LEAP IT Partner understands that when working with small law firms it is almost essential to always “go the extra mile” because the firm itself has no capacity to compensate for any shortcomings.

 

A major frustration for many small law firms is "pasing of the buck" to either software or hardware vendor. This approach is unhelpful. The LEAP IT Partner program works to eliminate this by sharing information and working collaboratively to solve problems on client sites.

 

IT Partners are selected for their experience in providing computer hardware, networks and communication environments on which LEAP software works well. They have access to technical materials and information that is not generally available and receive high level technical training and support directly from LEAP.

 

The LEAP National HelpDesk staff work closely with these companies to ensure swift resolution of any technical issues.

Membership Criteria

 

LEAP IT Partners need to demonstrate they have the skills and work experience necessary to meet

the needs of our clients.

To be eligible for membership of the LEAP IT Partner program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Currently supporting a minimum of two LEAP sites

  • Client endorsements in writing from two LEAP clients for us to use alongside your entry on our website

  • A thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, including file management, backup, restoring and email and internet usage

  • Knowledge of other applications used with LEAP software, such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, would also be an advantage

  • On your website you are required to display the LEAP IT Partner logo with a 300 word explanation approved by LEAP of your value add with a link back to www.leap.com.au. This text should include the key text needed to optimise your site for search engines. The search phrases will be provided by LEAP.

Please note: LEAP does not provide any specific courses to make you a LEAP Product specialist.

Application Procedure

 

Become an LEAP IT Partner in four easy steps:

 

Step 1: Register your interest

 

- Read the LEAP IT Partner Information Sheet

- Complete the Application for Membership Form

 

 

Step 2: Attend the next available LEAP IT Partner Training Day

 

You must attend a day of training in the LEAP Sydney Head Office.

These training days are held once a quarter on Saturdays..

 

This comprehensive two day course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to LEAP Documents

  • Introduction to Accounting

  • Technical briefing

  • Conversions

  • LEAP Client Space and National HelpDesk briefing.

Step 3: Complete All Certification Steps

 

After completion of the LEAP IT Partner Training Day, all applicants must complete the certification process. In the week following the training day you will receive an email confirming the ‘Next Steps’ in the certification process.

 

These steps include:

  • Putting LEAP onto your website

  • Provide documentation to LEAP

  • Nominate a location to attend the LEAP IT Partner Workshop

  • LEAP provides materials to you

Step 4: Attend LEAP IT Partner Workshop

 

As part of the LEAP IT Partner Program, the LEAP IT Partners are required to attend a half day in one of LEAP’s Branch Offices. On this day they will meet the LEAP Sales and Consulting Teams for the State, and buddy up with a HelpDesk Consultant for a few hours.

 

Yearly Commitment

 

All LEAP IT Partner memberships are up for renewal on June 30 each year. This involve:

  • Attendance at the Yearly Partner Briefing

  • Renewing the annual subscription fee (currently $660*, GST inc.) before 30 June each year

  • Updating or renewing the two LEAP Client endorsements.
