The successful conversion of client records and accounting data from one system to another requires:-
-
An understanding of the operation of the system from which the data is to be extracted,
e.g. Locus, Open Practice
-
An understanding of the operation of the system into which the data is to be placed - LEAP
-
The technical ability to extract and import the data
-
The legal accounting knowledge and experience to interpret the data to be extracted from the legacy
system and place it in the correct location, with the correct data relationships, into LEAP
-
The knowledge and experience to help the client to identify and reconcile
the anomalies existing in the old data to provide a comfortable, accurate starting point for the new system.
LEAP Conversion Programmers have the experience and skills necessary to perform conversions from most
systems provided they can access the data in the old system.
Not all data can be successfully or economically electronically converted. All systems
are different, and many older bookkeeping systems do not expose data sufficiently to enable
it to be extracted accurately or completely.
Data cleansing by your staff as part of the conversion process and for some time afterwards
should be expected. Program logic also differs, and where required, LEAP will make decisions
based on generally accepted accounting principles. The Consulting Team works with your
accounting staff and the Conversion Programmers to deliver a good result for you.
Fixed rate conversions are available from most common legacy products. Please contact LEAP Sales for details.
